The next couple of months are going to be a very critical moment for all our teenagers. Some of them will be lost and their lives ruined because of the countless allurements and temptations in our neighbourhoods that appeal to their weak untamed passions. I am certain that you would never want that to happen to your own son or daughter. The question I have for you is, what are you doing or going to do as a parent then?
Our teenagers are exposed to constant suggestions of all kinds from their surrounding and they absorb and assimilate a lot from the environment. They learn and copy from their peers. That’s why they need coaching to learn to be individuated and be taught how to develop the ability to say ‘no’.
When COVID 19 Pandemic happened, we launched a Teens Zoom Forum that runs every Saturday at 11am. In this Forum, we have been talking, coaching and mentoring teenagers. Thanks to the parents who enrolled their children right from the beginning, we have made quite some progress.
In one of the sessions that we had recently, we were talking to them about ‘how to deal with peer pressure.’ Since then, we have received several requests from parents whose sons and daughters didn’t make to attend that particular session. Therefore, due to public demand, we have scheduled a similar session this coming Wednesday (15th July) at 3pm. don’t let your teenager son/daughter miss out this time round. Register them as early as now.
Sincerely yours
Kigwa Stephen
