God designed the union we call marriage and established the principles that would make it work. God’s master plan for marriage always work for any marriage but violation of His plan leads to failure. Marriage union only works when we follow God’s design for success. That begins with knowing God followed by knowing your spouse. Your relationship with God significantly affects your relationship with others-especially your spouse. 

The arch enemy of marriage relationship is not another woman or another man; it is the devil. In the home of Adam and Eve at a place called Eden, there was no other woman or man in the picture. Satan divided the first home that God created and his aim is to do the same to yours.  Why does he want to divide homes? Because a house that is divided cannot stand. 

One of the greatest responsibilities you have as a married person is ensuring that there is unity and oneness in your marriage union. That is why you must be intentional in seeking to understand your spouse. It is one thing to know the differences between men and women in general but it is a different ball game altogether to understand the person you call your husband or wife.

Men and women were created to be different and to function in different roles, like locks and keys. Together, we bring different perspectives into marriage. God calls us to honour those differences, not to despise or attempt to change them. When we come together in marriage, we cover each other’s weaknesses. Her strengths become your strengths and vice versa and we complete each other. The two shall become one! A couple that is unified will move heaven into the earth realm.
